Common Tally customisation requests we deliver

Upgrade-safe TDL — why it matters

Tally releases new versions every few months with fixes and statutory updates. Poorly written TDL customisation breaks on the very next upgrade — leaving you unable to upgrade, unable to access new features, and unable to file GST returns with the latest schema. This is the single biggest complaint we hear from customers who have inherited customisation from a previous vendor.

Every customisation is tested against the latest Tally Prime release before delivery, and re-tested on every subsequent release under AMC. Our customisation process — scoping, build, test, deploy

Every Tally customisation project runs through a structured process. Phase 1 is a written scope document — exactly what the customisation does, what it does not do, how it looks, how it behaves in edge cases. Phase 2 is a fixed-price quote — no hourly billing, no scope creep. Phase 3 is development, done in our office, versioned in Git and unit-tested against a staging Tally installation. Phase 4 is UAT on a copy of your live data. Phase 5 is deployment to production with rollback plan.

After go-live, the customisation is enrolled into your AMC — we retest it against every new Tally Prime release and fix any compatibility issues at no extra cost. Full source code and documentation are handed over to you, so you are never locked in to a single vendor.

When customisation is NOT the right answer

One of the most valuable things a good Tally partner does is tell you when customisation is the wrong solution. If your requirement is really about a fundamentally different workflow — full manufacturing ERP, warehouse management, sales force automation on the road — then bolting it on to Tally as customisation is expensive, fragile and hard to maintain. In those cases, a dedicated system (or an integrated best-of-breed) is a better investment.
